New tumblr… submit!

Y’all better start following http://comingoutcrazy.tumblr.com/ because with the help of you and lots of other folks, I am going to start making some awesome things happen there very soon.

EONS ago I gathered submissions for a zine I was going to put together called “Coming Out Crazy”. That was over a year and a half ago and far too much of my own shit has gotten in the way of me actually doing this work… but no more! For a long list of reasons I’ve turned my zine project into a tumblr instead (such as accessibility, being able to make it an ongoing project that can generate dialogue rather than a finished product).

So, since this is going to be ongoing, you can submit! No deadlines! Hurray!

Here is the original project description….

Coming Out Crazy is a ~~zine~~ tumblr for self-love, fighting ableism, and breaking the silence around ‘disordered’ minds and mental health issues.

We are seeking written (personal narratives/rants/poetry/etc) and visual arts (comics, photographs, illustrations..) submissions about your experiences with mental health issues.

In particular, we are looking for submissions about:

Personal narratives

How your mental health affects and/or is affected by other aspects of your identity and social position

Medicalization of mental health and encounters with health care professionals

Stigma and silencing

Mental health ‘coming out’ stories

Self-love and support

Please email submissions to comingoutcrazy@gmail.com. Please specify under which name the work should be published.

My excellent friend made an excellent zine called Support n Destroy, about self-care, mental health, a little bit about other things like meditation, giving yourself massages, staying warm in the winter, lots of great things and I love it and this is a link to a pdf version of it!!

I just found out about this! Totally stoked about it. I’ve been looking for more zines related to self-care/mental-health/depression & hadn’t found much of anything. Pls reblog with more suggestions, if you have any.
