A lot of the things I’ve drawn in the last while have gotten super-posi in a way that I’m not sure I really… like. This year I’ve ended up drawing as a way to talk myself out of feeling bad or as a way to distract myself from feeling bad. What I wanted, after all, was to learn to be more honest. There it is, I guess. Working through the self-doubt is another good exercise, any way.

Scientists have recently discovered a rare, solitary type of bee that makes tiny little nests by plastering together flower petals. Each nest is a multicolored, textured little cocoon - a papier-mache husk surrounding a single egg, and protecting it while it metamorphoses into an adult.

Sophie made this for me when she came to visit a week after my dad died. I swapped her for a crude tapestry boasting WITCHES AGAINST CAPITALISM. I think this is incredibly profound and applicable to so many things. I will keep it and treasure it always.
